The program is not affiliated with any Japanese institution, but is facilitated by the Ishikawa Prefectural Government.

Professional Development

  • Glenn Grants, a program of summer grants used by East Asian Studies faculty for research and travel
  • Global Education Grants, awarded by the W&L GLobal Stewardship Program for faculty, to aid them in developing new courses that will have a global focus
  • Global Education seminars that allow faculty to focus on one region of the world; a program was to have been focused on China over the past year, before SARS made postponement of the program necessary. It may be back on the table at some future time.
  • 2 in-house summer grant programs
