Project Title: Summer-school service-learning opportunity in Hungary

Project Description:

Ohio Wesleyan, in consultation with the Philadelphia Center (GLCA) and the Demokratikus Ifjusagert Alapitvany (of Hungary), has been considering a summer-school service-learning opportunity in Hungary. We had begun exploration of the prospect of starting the program in 2001 summer, but too many factors remained unresolved to plan a program then. Therefore, we are targeting 2002 summer for initiation of this program.

Title: Director of Career Services

E-mail: calipper@cc.owu.edu

Biographical Information: I started working as the Director of Career Services in January 2001, after working at The College of Wooster as their Assistant Director of Career Services. Our office slogan is "Connecting Your Education to Your Career Journey," which includes serving students throughout their four years on campus as they clarify career interests and values, as well as acquire the skills to be successful in their chosen field. While I was a student at Ohio Wesleyan, I was a beneficiary of international education through the significant international student presence on our campus and studying abroad at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. I continue to enjoy observing the impact of international education on our students. I am especially interested in the roles that service learning and international education play in career development. As a new member of Ohio Wesleyan's administration, I would like to learn more about our international education and collaboration efforts, as well as the initiatives of other institutions.
