Student Advisors Roundtable Best Practices Workshops Between fall 2004 and fall 2005 the task force sponsored a series of workshops aimed at sharing experiences and wisdom about international education. Designed for small groups of faculty and administrators, the workshops addressed important challenges in off-campus study. Information on the workshops is available here. Pre-departure and reorientation symposia In 2004 and 2005, international educators and faculty from across the Global Partners network participated in a two symposium on pre-departure and reorientation programs at Birmingham-Southern College. Best Practices Projects For the second phase of the Global Partners Project, the Best Practices Task Force awarded three major grants to support creative work in international education among the Global Partners campuses. Information on these grants is now available here. Partners Projects Following the Best Practices Conference in June 2001, the Task Force awarded eight grants -- Partners Projects -- to support the development of innovative models in international education. Final reports on those projects are now available. Best Practices Conference In the spring of 2001 the task force brought together faculty and staff from the Global Partners campuses to discuss “Integrating Liberal Learning and Intercultural Education,” focusing on the unique perspective that liberal arts institutions bring to intercultural education and off-campus study. The conference was an opportunity for participants to share their expertise and “best practices” in workshops and discussion sessions. Conference information... For more information...
