General Information
Istanbul
Istanbul overlooks the Golden Horn and the shores of the beautiful
Bosphorus. It is undoubtedly one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the
world. A short stroll down Istanbul's streets can take you from the ancient
to the ultramodern. The city has an endless assortment of monuments and
artifacts of the Byzantine and Ottoman eras. The Istanbul portion of the
semester is offered in cooperation with Istanbul Technical University
(ITU). Located next to the heart of Istanbul, Taksim Square, ITU is an
ideal setting to begin your exploration of the city and of Turkish Culture.
Ankara
Ankara is the capital of Turkey. It has a thriving university community
and is the transportation center of Turkey. In Ankara you are a short
trip away from Konya, home of the poet Rumi; Cappadocia, where you'll
find stone and underground cities of ancient Christians; and the beautiful
coasts of the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.
Partner Universities: In Ankara our partner universities are two
prestigious insitutions: Bilkent University and Middle East Technical
University. At these schools you will be able to choose courses from a
full range of disciplines. The information below on specific departments
is to illustrate the high quality of the faculty and programs at these
universities. Visit each university's main website for more information
on other departments and offerings.
