Global Partners in TurkeyFaculty Travel and Research Grant Opportunities The Global Partners Turkey Task Force is pleased to be able to offer funding for independent travel and research in addition to the seminar opportunity. Grants are available for both area specialists and non-specialists. Grants are designed to assist planned research or curriculum development, or to support faculty members who are prospective program directors for the Global Partners student program in Turkey. Past participants in the faculty development seminar are eligible and encouraged to apply. Collaborative projects are especially encouraged. Such collaboration could include:
Note that while students and international colleagues may participate, the lead applicant for each grant must be a faculty member from a Global Partners institution. Among other related expenses, grants can pay for transportation and partial living expenses, with awards not exceeding $2,400. Length of stay and research time should be consistent with the project but, ordinarily, no less than one week. We encourage applicants to supplement Global Partners grants with other funding. Approximately 5 grants will be awarded. For travel in summer 2004 and AY2004-05, applications are due February 1, 2004. Application Process: 1. 2. Include a CV with your application letter. 3. Request a letter of recommendation from your chief academic officer. Preliminary reports are due to the ACS office one month after travel is completed. Final reports are due one month after the completion of the project. All materials must be submitted electronically no later than February 1, 2003. Application materials may be in Word (.doc), WordPerfect (.wpd), Rich Text Format (.rtf) for Windows, or ascii text. PC files rather than Mac files are preferred.
Applications will be reviewed
by the Turkey Task Force. Target date for selection and notification:
